GRAHAM COUNTY – The Graham County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deceased woman who was discovered in the desert off S. Cluff Ranch Road south of Pima early Wednesday night.

Authorities were dispatched at about 5:50 p.m. on Wednesday when a man called and advised he had found his missing sister in the desert.

Deputies responded to an area north of Grandma Lane and found located an “unattended death.”

Jeannie None Simpson, 62, was found deceased by her brother, who said she had been missing for weeks.

There was no missing report filed for Simpson, who has a history of substance abuse. According to Graham County Undersheriff Jeff McCormies, she was not reported missing to any other law enforcement agency either. Her body was scheduled for an autopsy by the Pima County Office of Medical Examiner on Thursday.

The situation remains under investigation at this time.
