SAFFORD — U.S. Senator Ruben Gallego will visit Graham County on Tuesday, Aug. 11, for a series of high-level meetings with key community sectors, including agricultural leaders, higher education administrators, local healthcare providers, and first responders.
The day’s events will kick off with a Rancher Farmer Roundtable, hosted by the Graham County Farm Bureau from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Graham County Cooperative Extension Office, located at 2100 S. Bowie Ave. in Solomon.
The roundtable is designed to provide local growers, ranchers, and agricultural producers with an open forum to discuss pressing issues directly affecting the region’s agricultural industry, from water resource management to federal farm policy. The Graham County Farm Bureau encourages all local agricultural stakeholders to attend and contribute to the dialogue.
Following the morning roundtable, Sen. Gallego will continue his tour across the Gila Valley to meet with leadership and representatives from several key regional institutions:
- Eastern Arizona College (EAC): Meetings with college leadership to discuss regional higher education needs, workforce development, and federal support for rural community colleges.
- Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center (MGRMC): Discussions focused on rural healthcare access, hospital funding, and healthcare infrastructure in Graham County.
- Safford Fire Department: A final stop to meet with local firefighters and first responders to review public safety resources, emergency response equipment, and community protection needs.
