Three wrestlers honored as tournament champions

SAN MANUEL – The Safford Middle School wrestling team competed in the 2019 San Manuel Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 16, and left with the team championship, three tournament champions, and the outstanding wrestler of the tournament.
All-everything middle school wrestler Kaleb Cordova was named the outstanding wrestler of the tournament and was the tournament champion in the 154-pound division.
Joining Cordova on the podium as champions were Alex Chacon in the 78-pound division and Gary Smith in the 167-pound division.
Other Bulldogs tournament placers included Monster Rios – second place, Anthony Garrobo – second place, Kody Gluyas – third place, Adrian Castillo – third place, Andrew Rios – third place, Trevor Sanchez – third place, Teegan Baldwin – fourth place, Gabriel Enriquez – fourth place, James Lujan – fourth place, Noah Dominguez – fourth place, and Orlando Romero – fourth place.
