SAFFORD – Dominance; that is the word to describe the Safford Middle School wrestling team’s position during the 14-team Safford Wrestling Invitational on Dec. 15.

According to Safford Middle School wrestling coach Philip Ornelas, the Bulldogs took home nine total medals, including an outstanding wrestler award, and the first-place team plaque.

“It’s always nice wrestling at home and being able to showcase our skills,” Ornelas said. “We have a lot to improve on but are right where we want to be at this point in the season.”
