Safford Library to celebrate ‘Star Wars Day’ on Thursday

SAFFORD – Since May 4 is on a Saturday this year and the Safford City-Graham County Library is not open then, the library will celebrate Star Wars Day on Thursday and encourages all fans to come and join in on the revelry.

The event features Star Wars displays graciously donated for the time that can be viewed throughout the day (10 a.m. – 7 p.m.) and will have Star Wars craft projects from 2:30 – 6 p.m.

At 3:30 p.m., the library will have a free screening of the movie “Solo” as well as its Lego club.

From 4 – 5 p.m. event goers can meet and greet some of their favorite characters and even get a picture. Be careful not to get Shanghaied into the First Order, however.

At 5 p.m., it’s time to let your hair down and give your best in the Wookiee Roar competition. 

Near the end of the day, the Star Wars Trivia competition will be at 5:30 p.m. 

So, come and bring the younger fans to have some Star Wars fun at the Safford Library on Thursday and, as always, may the force be with you.
