SAFFORD – The Safford City-Graham County Library invites community members to celebrate the opening of the new Library Annex building at 814 S. Central Ave. on Thursday, Sept. 7, from 4 – 6 p.m.
The new Library Annex is a flexible, multi-use space that will be utilized for library programs in addition to those already offered at the main library building. The new building will allow more opportunities for the community to learn, create, and explore together.
One highlight of the building is the Library Makerspace, which includes 3D printers, a Cricut machine, and a laser engraver, providing community members with endless opportunities to engage in hands-on learning and creation. Podcasting and green screen technology will also be available in the coming months.
In addition to the Makerspace, the library will host a variety of engaging programs in the Library Annex, including programs presented with partner organizations such as the Daughters of the American Revolution and the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension.
The Library Annex was made possible by the City of Safford, with support from The Friends of the Safford Library and First Things First of Arizona.
