Safford welcomes Thatcher in non-region play Tuesday

PIMA – The Cliff Thompson-coached Pima Roughriders host the Morenci Wildcats on Tuesday, Feb. 7. The pairing is an East Region contest and the regular season finale for both teams. The tip-off is 7 p.m. The Roughriders won the previous region pairing with Morenci by 28 points, 68-40, on Jan. 12.
Pima is atop the 2A East Region standings with an 11-0 record, averaging a 74-36 (736-357) score per game versus the other five region members or a 28-point margin, and ranked No. 2 while Morenci is third at 8-3, averaging a 58-44 (577-438) score versus the other five region opponents or 14-point margin, and No. 16.
