SAFFORD – Safford Police responded to the Safford High School on Tuesday regarding a report of a student with a gun that ended up being false.
SPD were joined by at the school by officers with the Thatcher Police Department and deputies with the Graham County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a SPD press release, the reporting party said a student had a gun and was threatening to shoot up the school.
However, officers learned the student in question did not have any weapons and nobody had been threatened.
“At this time, there is no evidence to suggest that this was a legitimate report. Safford Police School Resource Officer and detectives are continuing to investigate,” the release stated.
