The shooting occurred at about 3 a.m. on  Monday and involved two victims, who were transported to the Mt. The resident told the Gila Herald that he was awakened to shouting in his living room and that his roommate’s cousin had been shot in his leg in what appeared to be a through and through hit. The resident said he was informed that the injured man was responding well to treatment.

“I woke up and my roommate’s cousin has a (expletive deleted) hole in his leg,” the resident said.

Safford Police cordoned off the area and investigators were seen taking photos and possibly attempting to remove a bullet or other evidence that appeared to have become lodged in the skirting of a mobile home across the street.
