Plan for daytime lane restrictions and delays on U.S. Highway 60 between Superior and Miami on July 18

SUPERIOR – The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following lane restrictions on U.S. Highway 60 between Superior and Miami from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, for construction activities related to the US 60, Queen Creek and Waterfall Canyon Bridges replacement project:

  • U.S. Highway 60 between Superior and Miami, mileposts 227-231, will be reduced to one lane with alternating east- and westbound travel.
  • Flaggers and a pilot car will assist drivers through the work zone.
  • Drivers should be prepared to stop when approaching and proceeding through the flagging operation.
  • A 12-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.

Upcoming lane restrictions and alternating single-lane travel are also planned from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, July 22, Wednesday, July 24, and Thursday, July 25.

The upcoming full closure of U.S. Highway 60 between Superior and Miami is planned from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 23.

Full closures of U.S. Highway 60, when required, will occur from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays through November. Closures don’t occur every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but are limited to those days. When the closures occur, drivers are detoured on state routes 77 and 177 through Winkleman.
