One week left to fill wish tags

PIMA – Have you ever received a Christmas present from your grandmother of a pack of socks? Now imagine you were truly grateful to have received that present.

That is the harsh reality for a number of families during this Christmas season of giving, and the Pima Wish Tree aims to not only provide the basic necessities these youth are hoping to receive but also a special toy or two, after all, it is Christmas.

There are two youth Wish trees at Pima Town Hall this year and they are joined by a senior “Elder” tree that has the wishes of some of our senior citizens who could also use some assistance and perhaps a special gift or two.

The wish tags are on the trees at Pima Town Hall and can be taken by those who wish to fulfill them for the rest of this week The tags list a few necessities and the sizes the child wears, as well as a gift request.

If you are able to help provide a little Christmas cheer, the town of Pima asks that you wrap the gifts listed on a wish tag and return them to Pima Town Hall to be placed under the trees by Thursday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m. The town will then deliver the presents to the youth and the elderly.

As community members, let’s show how much Christmas spirit we have and make sure no wish tag goes unfulfilled this holiday season.
