Staff Reports

PIMA – The Pima Public Library has purchased 56 new books thanks to a $488 donation from two local Modern Woodmen of America chapters. The 2023 theme of the MWA was “Literacy”.

Pima Library Director Rane Jones was given checks from Annette and Shane Hughes for the donation.

Additionally, Jones and Pima Library Board President Melissa Batty received the Hometown Hero Award for their contributions to Literacy and work for Pima Public Library. Melissa has served on the Library Board and has been Board President for many years. Both women also received $100 to contribute to their charity of choice.

The Board has been instrumental in working with Jones to organize and help with supplies for the LEGO Club (after-school program for students 3rd-6th grade), Preschool story time, and movie nights.

MWA has also contributed to the library with its matching funds program.
