Pima boys in Pepsi Holiday Tournament semifinal

FLAGSTAFF – After going 1-1 in pool play, the Pima Roughriders (2-0 conference, 5-1 overall) defeated the 2A Arizona Lutheran Coyotes 53-37 in the quarterfinals Friday night to move into the semifinals Saturday afternoon. 

Pima lost its opening pool play game to the 4A Paradise Honors Panthers 37-47 but rebounded with a 59-34 victory over the 4A Mingus Union Marauders on Friday morning to reach the quarterfinals. 

The Roughriders will face the 4A Coconino Panthers (1-2 conference, 4-2 overall) starting at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at Flagstaff High School. The other semifinal matchup is between the 3A Snowflake Lobos and Paradise Honors.    

The Panthers got to the semifinals by defeating the 3A Winslow Bulldogs 59-15, the 3A San Tan Foothills Sabercats 50-32, and the San Tan Charter Roadrunners 66-31.
