BYLAS – The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers that the passing lane projects on US 70 from Peridot to Bylas have been completed within the San Carlos Apache Tribe community.

The projects included constructing a new passing lane on westbound U.S. Highway 70 between mileposts 288 and 289, west of Bylas, and adding a passing lane on eastbound U.S. Highway 70 between mileposts 274 and 276, east of Peridot. Additional project elements included:

  • Improving drainage and guardrail
  • Applying new pavement markings
  • Installing new signs

Intermittent lane restrictions will continue through late August while crews complete final pavement markings and other items.

ADOT thanks the community and traveling public for their patience during construction.
