VILLAGE OF OAK CREEK – On Thursday, Congressman Tom O’Halleran (AZ-01) announced $3,221,585 in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) funding for COVID-19 testing at community health centers in Arizona’s First Congressional District.

“Testing is a key piece in ensuring we have the data we need to decide when we can safely reopen our nation, especially in rural areas where reported data is already scarcer,” said O’Halleran. “Community health centers provide critical care to hundreds of thousands of Arizonans every year and are working around the clock to keep our communities safe and healthy. We must ensure that our rural communities are not overlooked in federal response efforts.”

Grant breakdown:

Canyonlands Community Health Care              $400,114

Sun Life Family Health Center, Inc                     $782,734

Marana Health Center, Inc.                                 $985,594

Tuba City Regional Healthcare Corporation     $143,014

North Country Health Care, Inc.                         $910,129

Funding allocated today is part of the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act, which O’Halleran voted to pass late last month.
