Sue McNiel

Sue McNiel, 71, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on April 21, 2026. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, while her father was serving at sea. During her childhood, her family lived in several locations, including Key West, Pensacola, Connecticut, Road Island, Charleston, and Norfolk, Virginia. Sue attended high school in Pensacola, Florida.

Sue eventually made Arizona her home, first living in Winslow and later settling in Tucson. She began her career working at Husky Nozzles in a demanding role before dedicating over 20 years of service to Tucson Medical Center, where she later retired.

Sue also proudly supported the Arizona Air National Guard, assisting families of deployed service members and ensuring their needs were met during difficult times. In recognition of her dedication and service, she was awarded the Arizona Meritorious Service Medal.

Sue enjoyed many hobbies, including painting, sewing, gardening, and volunteering her time at church. She deeply loved her church family and found great joy in serving others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mona, and one sister, Nina. Sue is survived by her loving husband, Joe; her son, Scott, and his wife, Mary; her grandson, Weston; her sisters, Jaquata and Tonya; and her brother Carl.

A celebration of Sue’s life will be held on May 9, 2026, at 2 p.m. at First Assembly of God in Morenci, Arizona, on Stadium Drive.
