Obituary for Sierra Lorraine Kelly

Sierra Lorraine Kelly, 14, entered into eternal rest on Sept. 3, 2019, at 4:35 p.m. in Ryan’s Hospice in Mesa. She was born on the 4th day of April in Delta, Colorado.  She was the angel of her mother, Katie Burnett, with Gary and Linda Burnett as her grandparents.

Sierra and her mother lived with the Burnetts off and on for most of her life and even though she could not talk after the disaster that she went through at 13 months of age, everyone that ever was affiliated and knew Sierra could feel her spirit even though she could not talk after the massive damage to her brain.

Sierra would look at you with her beautiful eyes and it was almost that she was looking at your soul and trying to communicate with the inner portion of your heart so that you would better understand her wants and needs.

Sierra Kelly

For the last eight months of her life, she has resided with some loving foster parents in Mesa, and they truly fell in love with this special angel girl. It is with deep gratitude that the Burnett family wishes to thank Alicia, her foster mother at Ryan’s Hospice, for the wonderful care given to Sierra. This little girl was indeed an inspiration to many and especially to the Burnett family, with her very loving composure each time you came in her presence.

Sierra was indeed a wonderful child, who totally changed the life of all of the family.

This obituary was lovingly written by her grandfather, Gary Burnett.

A memorial service for Sierra will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,  Mt. Graham Chapel Relief Society Room.

Arrangements are under the direction of McDougal’s Caldwell Funeral Chapel & Gila Valley Crematory.  Online condolences may be extended at www.caldwellfuneralchapel.com.
