Robert S. Gutierrez (Veto), 82, of Safford, passed away June 17, 2023, at home surrounded by family.
Robert was born in Safford on May 7, 1941, to Crispin and Teresa Gutierrez. He grew up in Safford, where he graduated from Safford High School in 1960. He then met Beatrice Sanchez and the two were married in 1964. They then had five children, Robert (Witcho), Jim, Priscilla, Anthony, and Larry.
Robert loved hunting, fishing, and watching Sports, UofA being his favorite team. He is survived by his sons, Robert D. (Sherry) Gutierrez, Jim (Mary) Gutierrez, and Larry Gutierrez, and his daughter, Priscilla (Cassius) Gutierrez; siblings, Ray, Eddie, Waldo, and Diana; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and his partner, Leanor Corona.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Crispin and Teresa Gutierrez; his siblings, Crispin and Frank Gutierrez, and his son, Anthony Gutierrez.
The burial of ashes will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 10 a.m. at the Safford Cemetery.
