Phoebe Fuentes was born on April 9, 1955, and went to our heavenly Father on Aug. 31, 2021. Phoebe was born in Safford, Arizona, to Alberta and Felipe Sanchez. She was one of 10 children and the first daughter after four of her brothers. Her siblings are Arthur, Victor, Felipe Jr., William, Carol, Avalina, and Ella Mae. Two brothers preceded her in death, Denicio and Daniel. Phoebe was raised in San Manuel until the family moved to Eden.
Phoebe became a mother at a young age. Her firstborn was Gilbert, followed by Angela and then Daniel. Phoebe met and married her partner and husband, Efrain Fuentes, in Eden, Arizona on a beautiful spring day in March 1980. They lived in Idaho for a time and then finally made their home in Peridot, Arizona. She then had Mikey, Rickey, and Alicia. Phoebe also leaves behind 32 beautiful grandchildren.
Phoebe was a loving, giving, and caring daughter, sister, wife, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. But first and foremost, a mother. She cherished her children and grandchildren and would do whatever she could to lend them a helping hand. She lived selflessly, caring and giving to all she met. She never turned anyone away. Phoebe was a strong, loving, and courageous woman, may we carry on her legacy.
Services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, with a viewing at 9 a.m., and the funeral at 10 a.m. at the McDougal’s Caldwell Funeral Chapel, with the burial in the Sanchez Cemetery following services.
