Maria Garcia, of Safford, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. She was born Dec. 23, 1958, in Agua Prieta, Mexico to parents Gabriel Leon Romo and Carmen Leon Davalos, with siblings Jose, Baldemar, Joel, Adan, Julian, Alfredo, Ignacio, Ramona, and Francisca.
Maria married Adan Garcia in 1982 and was a stay at home mother of three children, Gabriel, Pedro, and Fabian.
She is a Christian who loved watching novelas, cooking, and listening to music. She was considered a very outspoken person, even if it might offend you. She always enjoyed a good laugh, was always happy and a very hard worker. She was a very giving woman, especially when it came to cooking and feeding those at her home. She loved her cat, Loco, and made the best barbacoa and refried beans around. One of her most cherished life events was when her grandchildren were born. She has nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Maria is survived by her beloved husband, Adan Garcia, and her children, Fabian Leon, Bridget Leon, Gabriel Garcia, and Pedro Garcia. She is also survived by her siblings, Jose Leon, Baldemar Leon, and Adan Leon.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel and Carmen Leon; sisters, Ramona and Francisca, and brothers, Julian, Alfredo, and Ignacio.
Services will be held Saturday, March 7, at McDougal’s Caldwell Funeral Chapel from 3 – 6 p.m.
