Obituary for Margaret Peterson

Margaret Peterson of Safford passed away on Feb. 25, 2021, at her home with her loving family at her side.  She was born on Aug. 7, 1957, in Belfast, Ireland to Joseph Catney and Margaret McVeigh Catney, with siblings, Joseph, Paul, and Brendon.

Margaret graduated from Pickering One High School in 1974.  On June 28, 1980, Margaret married Samuel David Peterson in Toronto, Ontario Canada, and they were blessed with children, Samuel Peterson, John Flood, Chris Flood, Chelsey Gilbert, and TJ Durphy.

She enjoyed church activities at the New Life City Church and being with her grandchildren.  She moved to Canada in the 1960s, and then to Arizona in 2009.  Margaret had that dry British humor, was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and was often heard saying “God has a plan, trust it, live it, and enjoy it!”
