Mardelle Margaret Webb, of Thatcher, passed away on March 31, 2020, at the age of 100. She was born on March 30, 1920, in Reasnor, Iowa to parents Leslie Efnor McGregor and Marie Wilhelmina Margritha Van Willigen McGregor, also known as Margaret, with siblings Willard, Kenneth, and Ralph.
Mardelle attended high school in Newton, Iowa, graduating in 1939. She had two children with her first husband, Terry Aikin and Pattie Aikin Wickliff. After the divorce, she married Chester Webb, her true love. Mardelle always wanted to live to be 100 and see her great-great-grandchildren and she attained both! She worked very hard in life and loved her family, especially the children. Her favorite sayings were, “It will feel better when it quits hurting”, “Nothing is easy and it doesn’t happen by magic”, and lastly, “How are you Mardelle? Finer than frog’s hair”.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Judy) Aikin, and Pattie Wickliff, and her grandchildren, Jason Wickliff, Ellen (Al) Iske, Brandon (Kelsey) Aikin, and Lindsey Aikin. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Colton (Darian) Iske, Cheyenne Iske, Ansel Aikin, Ruby Rose Aikin, and Liam Aikin; her great-great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Barragan and Adailee Barney, and her brothers, Kenneth (Charlene) McGregor, and Ralph (Shirley) McGregor, and her “chosen” grandchildren, Sara Guerra, and Kelly (Austin) Kaniut-Suprack.
Mardelle was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Magaret McGregor, her beloved husband, Chester Webb, and her brother and sister-in-law, Willard and Faye McGregor.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Desert Springs Community Fellowship located at 425 E 4th St., Safford, Arizona, 85546.
