Marcella Barnes, of Pima, passed away Feb. 18, in Safford at the age of 79. Marcella was born May 21, 1939, in Atoka, Oklahoma, to Ernest Steve Williams and Carrie Daffin. Marcella’s siblings were Calvin, Fonnie, Dewey, Hubey, Waylon, Wanda June, and Jimmy Dale.
The family moved to Arizona settling in Pima, where Marcella attended school receiving her GED from Pima High School in 1967. She soon began working for Pima High School in the cafeteria in food service. She married Roland Edman Barnes and they had three children, Debra, Quentin, and Clayton.
Marcella is survived by her loving husband, Roland; her children, Debra Hallett, Quentin (Debbie) Barnes, and Clayton (Diane) Barnes; her siblings, Calvin Williams and Wanda June Manns; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Steve Williams and Carrie Daffin; and her siblings, Dewey Emerson, Hubey Emerson, Waylon Emerson, Fonnie Daffin, and Jimmy Dale Williams.
Services for Marcella will be held Friday, Feb. 22, at McDougal’s Caldwell Funeral Chapel, beginning with a viewing at 10 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Pima Cemetery following services.
