Obituary for Lyman Charles Wimberley

Lyman Charles Wimberley, of Safford, passed away at the age of 91 on May 28, 2019. He was born March 24, 1928, in Phoenix, to Dick and Pauline Wimberley. He had eight siblings; Ira, Burnum, Raymond, Elmo, Billy, Ruth, Thelma, and Audrey.

He was the foreman of ironworkers in California. He married Treva on Oct. 2, 1948, in Shafter, Calif.  The couple had three children; Raymond, Colette and, Burnum. 

Lyman enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He also loved going to yard sales and four wheeling. He was happiest during family get-togethers and parties.

He is survived by his loving wife, Treva; his children, Raymond (Sylvia) Wimberley, Colette (Steve) James, and Burnum (Shari) Wimberley; grandchildren, Karissa, Randy, Michael, Justin, Garrett, and Rhianna; two great-grandchildren; and two pets, Sam and Katy.

Lyman is preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Pauline, and all of his siblings.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, June 5, at McDougal’s Caldwell Funeral Chapel beginning at 9 a.m., with the graveside service at the Pima Cemetery, starting at 10:30 a.m.
