Obituary for Kristopher Sturm

Kristopher “Kris” T. Sturm, of Safford, passed into eternity on Nov. 2, 2019, at the age of 39. He was born Oct. 18, 1980, in Grand Junction Colorado, to Ron Frank Sturm and Mary June Willis Sturm, with siblings Ronnie, Cherla, Doug, Jared, Shay, and Rylan.

Kris attended Snow Canyon High School in St. George, Utah, and won the Utah State Championship in wrestling while there, and, in 2016, he graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Asian Studies.

He loved to read, play sports of all kinds and was a very witty charmer. He was kind, smart, and very compassionate. Everyone who knew Kris loved him. He had a way of lighting up a room and making everyone laugh. Those who knew him loved his wit and the fun puns he would throw into any conversation.

Kris is survived by his loving parents, Ron and Mary June Sturm; and his siblings, Ronnie, Cherla, Doug  (Laura), Jared (Cathy), Shay (Max Wood),  and Rylan (Baylee), and his dog, penny. Kris is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews who loved being with uncle Kris.

He is preceded in death by Frank Sturm, Leona Ruby Vetters Sturm, and Robert Willis.

A memorial service for Kris will be held Friday, Nov. 8, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 20th Street Chapel in Safford, beginning at 11 a.m., with Bishop John Green conducting.
