Karen Eleanor (Lee) Lines passed away on April 9, 2019. She was born to Carl Hall and Emma Lucile (Huber) Lee on July 14, 1945, in Mesa. She graduated from Santa Cruz Valley Union High School in 1963 and attended Arizona State College at Flagstaff. It was here that she was set up on a blind date with the man she’d someday marry, John Wayne Lines, son of Milo Wade and Lena (Skousen) Lines. They were married for eternity on September 24, 1965, in The Mesa Arizona Temple.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings in Relief Society, Young Women, Primary, and Sunday School. She worked many jobs throughout her life, including substitute teacher, baker, beautician, and certified nursing assistant, but her favorite was that of a mother.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years; sons, David (Becky), Clay (Michelle), Joe (Alissa), Brad (Janae), J.T. (Mary), and Wayne (Amanda) Lines; daughters, Sherri (Jeremy) Jones, and Colleen (Brandon) Tarnutzer; 38 grandchildren; brother, Arnold (June) Lee; sister, Nathel (Tom) Martin; brother-in-law, C.H. Packer, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson. Trever Lines, and sister. JoAnn Packer. She loved lots of things in life, but nothing more than her husband, children, grandchildren, and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13, at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Solomon Ward Building, 2249 S Stevens Ave. in Solomon. Viewings will be held Friday, April 12th, 6 – 8 p.m. at the Solomon Ward, and again prior to services Saturday from 9 – 9:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Thatcher Cemetery.
