Herschel Joseph Medlin, a resident of Pima and a United States Marine Corps veteran, passed into eternal life, Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 14, 2021, at the Banner University Hospital in Phoenix, with his beloved wife, Jessica, at his side. Herschel was 48.
Herschel had faithfully served and protected the Safford and Gila Valley communities as a patrol officer for the Safford Police Department for more than 18 years.
Herschel leaves to mourn his wife, Jessica; and three children, Daniel (Reah), Wyatt, and Juliette.
Funeral services for Herschel will be conducted Tuesday morning, Dec 21, at 10 a.m., at the Pima Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Bishop Vernon Batty of the Pima Fifth Ward.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, Dec. 20, from 6 until 8 p.m., at the Vining Funeral Home and Tuesday morning from 9 until 9:45 a.m., at the Pima Stake Center Relief Society Room of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
