Fred Campbell Keir, 76, of Safford, passed away on Jan. 22, 2021, with his loving wife at his side. Fred was born on April 26, 1944, in Sayre, Pennsylvania to Leslie A. Keir and Hazel Bradley Keir, with siblings Leslie Dale Keir, and Carol Keir.
Fred joined the U.S. Navy in 1963 and served as a Farrier. He was blessed with the births of his children from a previous marriage; Hannah, Adam, Samuel, Jedidiah, Camilla, and Benjamin. On July 4, 1992, he married Carol Marie Pett. He enjoyed hunting whitetail deer and shooting his rifle and his bow.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Keir; his children, Hannah Keir, Adam (Rebecca) Keir, Samuel (Jennifer) Keir, and Jedidiah Keir; his siblings, Leslie Dale (Betty) Keir, and Carol Reed; 17 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Hazel Keir; his daughter, Camilla Crane; his son, Benjamin Keir, and two grandchildren, Seth and Samantha.
