Obituary for Eloisa Madrid

Surrounded by family, Eloisa Madrid, 82, of Safford, passed away Dec. 21, 2018.

Eloisa was born to Lupe Perez and Rosa Martinez Perez on Sept. 14, 1936 in Beeville, Texas.

On Sept. 26, 1959, she married Arthur Madrid and in 1964 moved from Solomon to Safford to raise their three children; Sandra, Roseann, and Arturo Jr.

Eloisa will always be remembered as a selfless wife, mother, and grandmother. She was generous, loving, and supportive and always put others before herself. She had a strength like no other and devoted her time and energy to her family. She never wanted anyone to go out of their way for her, yet she did all of the time for others. She raised three children, helped raise many grandchildren, and baby sat for her great grandchildren. For more than 50 years, she stood by and cared for her husband while he battled numerous health conditions.

Eloisa Madrid

Eloisa’s home was always filled with family. She was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing food for them. She would have coffee ready for her children in the morning, lunch prepared for her school-aged grandchildren, and dinner for anyone who didn’t feel like cooking after a long day at work. In the rare moments she had for herself, you would find her gardening, sewing, or enjoying a trip to the casino with friends.

Eloisa is survived by her children; Sandra (Lencho) Carrasco, Roseann (Rick) Larranga, and Arturo (Sheri) Madrid, of Safford; her grandchildren, Reanna (Nando) Gasca, Michelle Provencio, Daniel (Andrea) Madrid, Chris (Candice) Garcia, Eric (Zulma) Provencio, Trinity (Patryk) Madrid, and Hunter Madrid; her eight great-grandchildren; her brothers, Guillermo, Jesse, and Lupe Perez; and her sisters, Josefa  Casarez, and Arcadia Gallegos, all of Texas.

Eloisa is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Madrid; parents, Lupe and Rosa Perez; and her brother, Manuel Perez.

To honor Eloisa’s wishes, no services will be held.
