Elaine Faye Jones Arrellin, age 79, quietly passed away on June 30, 2023, surrounded by her children and family. Elaine was born June 6, 1944, to Adelia Faye and David P. Jones in Lordsburg, Hidalgo, New Mexico.
Elaine spent much of her childhood traveling from place to place with her family finally settling in the Gila Valley permanently in 1972. Elaine was a beloved bartender locally for many years. In addition, she worked in the cash office for K-mart, a position which eventually lead to her becoming a bank teller. She was very proud of her job and fellow employees at the National Bank of Arizona where she was a member of their team for several years.
Upon Elaine’s retirement, she began to focus more on her passion for gardening. She had a green thumb and enjoyed raising many different types of plants and succulents which the community enjoyed while driving down Relation Street in the spring and summer. Elaine always loved animals of all types and throughout her life cared for and loved many pets. Those years after retirement were some of the happiest and most stable of her whole life which she was blessed to share with her husband John Arrellin.
Elaine is survived by her dogs, Toby and Beau; her cat, Sugar; her children, John and Tom Asahl, Leslie and Wendell Norton, Gina and Brian Morrow, and Andrew Arrellin; her Godparents Mr and Mrs Jim Warren; in addition to her grandchildren, Robert, Ryan, Bethany, Jennifer, Forrest, Zachary and Brianon, and her great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Amelia, and Alexandria.
