Obituary for Craig D. Nezat

Craig D. Nezat, 70, of Pima, peacefully passed on Sept. 7, 2019, due to Pancreatic Cancer.  He was surrounded by family at the time. Craig was born in Bridge City, Texas, in 1949 to parents Gilford Nezat and Audrey Prejean Nezat.

In 1959, at the age of 10, Craig and his family moved to Tucson, where he attended schools in the area.  He then went on to start his career in mining in San Manuel. He later moved to the Duval Mine in Sahuarita. While working there, he met his love, Rena MacKinnon, and on Dec. 13, 1983, the couple married.  In 1981, they had a daughter, Tammy Lynn.

In 1983, the family moved to Morenci, so Craig could work for Phelps Dodge, where he stayed for 21 years, from 1983 until 2004. Then, in 1985, the family moved to Pima, where their residence still resides.

Craig is survived by his wife, Rena Nezat; his daughter, Tammy (Jess) Rogers; his siblings, Sharon (Neil) Webb, James (Betty) Nezat and grandchildren, Ricardo Leon, Jr., Raelynn Rogers, and Remington Rogers.
