Connie Garcia Gonzales, of Safford, passed into eternity on July 18, 2019, at the age of 84. She was born on December 19, 1934, in San Jose, Arizona, to Renaldo Garcia and Annie Madrid Garcia, joining her two brothers, Merijildo and Reynaldo.
Connie attended schools in the San Jose area and graduated from Safford High School in 1952. She was blessed with two daughters, Arlene Ann and Brenda Marie.
Her life revolved around her daughters and her church family. Connie had a joyous personality, full of laughter and very giving of her time to others. She was very, very humble and had a beautiful smile that would melt your heart.
Her favorite saying was “remember, God is watching us”. If her life were summed up in three words, they would be God, family, and perseverance.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Arlene Messer and Brenda Chacon; granddaughter Joli Ann (Jeff) Liebrock; and two great-grandchildren, Sara Jordan and Joshua Michael Liebrock and many friends.
Connie is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Manuel Gonzales; and her parents, Renaldo and Annie Garcia; and her brothers, Merijildo and Reynaldo Garcia.
Services will be held Friday, July 26, at the McDougal’s Caldwell Funeral Chapel, beginning with a viewing at 9 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Safford Cemetery after the services.
