Christopher M. Woods was born in Safford, Arizona, on Dec. 18, 1948, to his two loving parents, Bailey Ray Woods and Betty Ann Baker. Chris lived in the Thatcher community for his whole life and graduated from Thatcher High School. After graduating, Chris joined the Marines and served in the Vietnam War. After serving his country, he worked for the Morenci mine as a haul truck driver and made the world-class Rainfire Beef Jerky. Later, on Oct. 25, 1999, Chris married the love of his life, Theressa Woods. He had five children, and they loved them all.
Chris was well known for his master-class beef jerky, and in his free time, you could catch him hunting, shooting, fishing, and golfing. A few of Chris’s meaningful life events included serving his country in the Vietnam War, his marriages, and having his beautiful children.
He exuded friendliness with how he always greeted everyone with a warm smile, and if you ever heard him laugh, you would never forget it. Chris loved to laugh, and he would always play jokes. With a friendly smile came a friendly personality, and he loved to go into town just to talk to those he knew. He will be missed dearly.
Christopher is survived by his spouse, Thressa Woods; his sons, Joshua Mark Woods, Shaffen D. Woods, and Micah Adam Woods; his daughter, Becki Dawn Maclay, and his sister, Lynn Cluff.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bailey Ray Woods, and Betty Ann Baker; his brother, Steve Woods; his 17 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
