Obituary for Arthur McBride

Arthur Glenn McBride, of Safford, passed away on June 26, 2020, at the age of 91. He was born on May 11, 1929, in Clifton, to parents William Wesley McBride and Eleanor Frances Scott McBride.

He graduated from Clifton High School and married his beloved Pearl Overturf in Lordsburg, New Mexico on July 1, 1950. The couple returned to Clifton, where Arthur began working for Phelps Dodge as a mechanic. They were soon blessed with the births of their two children, Kenneth and Barbara.

Arthur enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He also loved attending all of the family reunions, fish fries, and the yearly hunting trips. His favorite saying was, “Never do business unless you are eye to eye with that person.”

He is survived by Clyde K. McBride, Billy McBride, June Kuykendall, Bonnie Malaney, Tommy McBride, Norma Jean King, Jimmy McBride, and Patsy Brinkley; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and his mules and horses.

Arthur is preceded in death by his wife, Pearl; his children, Kenneth McBride and Barbara Dozier; Walter Wesley McBride, Louise Moreno, Betty Meek, Richard McBride, Charlie McBride, George McBride, Johnnie McBride, and Bessie Kuykendall.

No services are planned.
