Alfonso B. Lopez, age 60, entered into eternal life on July 2, 2021, in Safford, Arizona. He was born on Aug. 28, 1960 in Morenci, Arizona to Reynaldo Mendoza Lopez and Frances Bencomo Lopez.
Growing up in San Manuel, Arizona, he later moved to Tucson, Arizona, and became a skilled concrete finisher. He eventually settled in Greenlee/Graham counties, particularly in Safford, where he spent the rest of his days.
He never married but had one daughter, Gina Lopez, and one grandson, Adrian Sanchez.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Reynaldo “Nato” M. Lopez and Frances “Kika” B. Lopez, and three brothers, Reynaldo, Sonny, and Frank Lopez.
He is survived by his daughter, Gina Lopez, and grandson, Adrian Sanchez, of San Manuel; two brothers, Richard (Sylvia) Lopez, and Robert Lopez, of Safford, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Burial services for Alfonso will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 15, at the Safford Cemetery with a post-funeral reception afterward at the American Legion in Safford.
