Obituary for Ageda Lucero

Ageda (Corona) Lucero, lovingly known as Aggie, was born Feb. 28, 1943, in San Patricio, New Mexico, to Maximiano and Bresellia Corona. She was one of 10 cherished children. Her parents moved to Morenci and eventually settled in Duncan, where Aggie was raised. Aggie met the love of her life, Filomeno Lucero, while she was staying in Safford with her sister, Lucinda.

They soon were married and welcomed two wonderful daughters, Stephanie (Michael) and Rebecca (Ricky). Through the years, she was able to raise her family and help raise others. She worked at Camp Trails, Circle K, and Wal-Mart. During their life together they were blessed with five beautiful grandchildren, Alicia (Kenny), Rikki (Chris), JC (Michael), Robert (Britney), and Danielle. She was also blessed with seven great-grandsons, Ryan, Alan, Braydon, Clayton, Christopher, Remington, and Maverick. Over the years, she developed a talent and love of sewing, in particular quilting.

Through the decades, she was recognized for her talent and skill as a master quilter and for her charitable heart in donating her treasures to worthy causes. Her quilting afforded her the opportunity to develop valued friendships with Ida, Eva, Francis, and Ann as well as the other ladies in her quilting class. Aggie was preceded in death by both her parents; her beloved husband, Filo, and siblings, Vitalia and James. She is survived by her children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren, and her siblings Alfonso, Lucinda, Phillip, Andres, Alfredo, Fernando, and Oslive.

She entered into rest, unexpectedly after visiting her favorite quilting store in Tucson, Arizona. She was loved dearly and will be missed by many.
