GRAHAM COUNTY – First responders were dispatched to a car fire just before noon on Thursday at the start of “The Stretch” on U.S. Highway 191 North between the Black Hills and Highway 70.
Graham County Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted an Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper at the scene near mile marker 139 with shutting down the highway and performing traffic control.
The Safford Fire Department extinguished the fire, and there were no reported injuries to any vehicle occupants or first responders. The car was then towed from the scene.
