GILA COUNTY – Daily lane restrictions for bridge girder work on U.S. Highway 60 near Pinto Creek have ended. Crews placed the final girder this morning.

While intermittent lane restrictions are possible for work zone maintenance or other short-term project needs, no extended restrictions on U.S. Highway 60 are planned for several weeks.

The next major traffic restriction is tentatively scheduled for July when U.S. Highway 60 will close overnight for at least one night to pour the concrete bridge deck. A full five-day closure is tentatively scheduled for the second half of August to allow crews to transition traffic between the old and new bridges.

Motorists should proceed with caution, slow down, watch for equipment, and follow the directions of flaggers and law enforcement.
