THATCHER — The Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center Auxiliary is getting set for the 45th annual Christmas House, and the auxiliary will change things up slightly from previous years.
This year, the Christmas House will be at Jennifer and Clifton Labrum’s residence at 695 N. Diamond Springs Ln. in Thatcher. The event will take place Nov. 2 – 3.
As in previous years, the Christmas House will be open Friday evening from 5 – 8 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9 a.m. – noon, but this year, visitors will not need a ticket to attend. Instead, there will be a $2 entry fee that will be collected at the door.
However, for the first time, handmade craft items will be available for purchase on both days.
On Friday evening, there will be musical entertainment and light refreshments. Saturday morning, the auxiliary bake sale will be held, followed by the Saturday afternoon drawing for raffle items at the close of the event. Raffle items will be announced in mid-September when tickets become available in the hospital gift shop and other local venues. Raffle tickets can also be purchased at the fund-raiser both Friday and Saturday.
MGRMC Auxiliary Christmas House Chair Lori Monteith said the changes the organization is making this year were in direct response to the community’s feedback.
“What hasn’t changed is the auxiliary’s commitment to supporting MGRMC and the opportunity that (the) Christmas House presents to the Gila Valley to lend their support to MGRMC and its auxiliary by attending and making purchases,” she said. “All proceeds are used by the auxiliary to purchase equipment used in patient care.”
