MOUNT GRAHAM -State Route 366 (Swift Trail) is scheduled to reopen to traffic for the season above the Shannon Campground on Mount Graham on Thursday, April 15.
Due to an ongoing roadway repair project, motorists on SR 366 should expect lane closures with delays of up to 30 minutes. Signals or flaggers will be used to control traffic.
The contractor may work on two locations at a time, thus multiple 30 minute delays are possible.
Crews expect to work primarily on weekdays, but some weekend work is possible.
Key elements of the project include:
• Removal of burned trees
• Repairs to the road surface in select locations
• Drainage repairs
• Box culvert replacements
• A chip seal on the paved portion of the highway
The project is needed to complete repairs caused by the 2017 Frye Fire.
Drivers should proceed with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
