THATCHER – Everyone has heard that dynamite comes in small packages. Taylor Hollestelle, from Morenci, makes that statement come to life. With a humble personality, an infectious smile and a sense of humor that will last all day long, Hollestelle also has the ability to achieve her goals and help others along the way.
“What folks may not know is that she will go above and beyond for those she meets, or at least she did as a member of EAC’s softball team,” said EAC head softball coach, Kate McCluskey.
In 2018, Hollestelle earned the following recognitions: 2nd Team NJCAA All American; 1st Team all ACCAC and All-Region 1; 2nd Team NFCA West Region; Honorable Mention in Fastpitch News’ All American; Tied 6th in the NJCAA in RBI’s – 84; 11th in the NJCAA for 2B-23; 13th in the NJCAA in hit with 89.
Hollestelle has signed to play at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. Her parents are James and Maxine Hollestelle and she has two brothers who are referred to as “the Big One and the Little One.” She has many local aunts, uncles, extended family, and friends in the Gila Valley who have supported her throughout her life. While Hollestelle will be missed at EAC, her coach and teammates know that Fort Lewis College will gain an outstanding player and person and that she has a bright future ahead that will lead to big results.
