THATCHER — Eastern Arizona College is proud to announce that Monique Saldaña, a member of the College’s marketing and public relations team, has graduated from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations Leadership Institute. The program concluded at the NCMPR National Conference in Washington, D.C., on March 20, 2026.

The NCMPR Leadership Institute is a selective, yearlong program designed to develop leadership skills among marketing and public relations professionals at community colleges nationwide. Participants complete a series of in-person and virtual sessions, along with coaching and mentorship from experienced leaders in the field.

Saldaña was selected to join a national cohort of emerging leaders and demonstrated strong growth throughout the program.

According to Leadership Institute facilitator Dan Baum, executive director of strategic communications at Anne Arundel Community College, the program focuses on strengthening strategic thinking, collaboration, and leadership — areas in which Saldaña demonstrated clear growth and impact.

Saldaña has played a key role in shaping EA’s brand, including significant contributions to the College’s rebranding efforts. She has also presented at multiple NCMPR national conferences, sharing EA’s transformation with peers from across the country.

“Monique’s achievement reflects her dedication to excellence and her growing leadership at Eastern Arizona College,” said Keith Alexander, chief government relations officer. “We are proud of her accomplishment and excited to see the continued impact of her work.”

Through the Leadership Institute, Saldaña further strengthened her ability to lead strategic initiatives, collaborate across departments, and support the College’s mission through effective communication.

Saldaña is a graduate of Safford High School, Eastern Arizona College, and Grand Canyon University.
