Man shot under suspicious circumstances

GRAHAM COUNTY – The Graham County Sheriff’s Office recently released an incident report regarding a gunshot victim who was treated at Mount Graham Regional Medical Center (MGRMC).

According to the report, a deputy was dispatched to the hospital regarding a gunshot victim at about 12:56 a.m. on Feb. 5. Upon arrival, the deputy was informed the victim still had a bullet lodged behind his knee.

When questioned how he was shot, the victim was brief at best and said that he was near a hill in the Clay Knolls area when he heard a shot and felt the pain in his knee.

The victim declined to identify who he was with at the time of the incident and alluded that he would not be forthcoming with any additional information.

After collecting the victim’s clothing and other evidence, deputies performed additional investigation but later cleared with no further action.
