SAFFORD — A Graham County man was arrested Wednesday evening after two women reported seeing him standing naked outside his residence on S. Vista Drive, according to the Graham County Sheriff’s Office.
Valroy Housley was taken into custody around 7:08 p.m. on May 21 and charged with two counts of indecent exposure, both misdemeanors.
According to the sheriff’s report, a woman contacted authorities after her sister reported seeing their neighbor, Housley, unclothed. The woman and her mother told deputies they were walking to check the mailbox when they observed Housley standing naked in the grass just north of his travel trailer.
The woman stated she saw Housley’s genitals, testicles, pubic hair, and buttocks, and that he was holding his penis at the time. She said Housley ran back into his travel trailer after noticing the women. She also reported that Housley had been looking through his blinds earlier and described the incident as part of an ongoing problem, expressing concern for young children who visit the residence. The women told deputies they wished to pursue charges and reported that Housley had already been under investigation by the health department for allegedly defecating in his yard.
When contacted by a deputy, Housley said he was preparing to take a shower and was fully undressed when his dog began barking. He stated he stepped outside to check on the dog and did not realize the women were present.
Housley was advised of his Miranda rights, placed under arrest, and transported to the Graham County Adult Detention Facility. A Graham County sergeant took custody of Housley’s dog and transported the animal to the Graham County Animal Shelter.
This case remains pending in Graham County Justice Court.
