SAFFORD – Joseph Andrew Sedillos, 31, of Thatcher, was arrested for DUI after officers located him asleep with his vehicle running while in the drive-through lane of McDonald’s just after midnight, Thursday, July 4.
According to a Safford Police report, officers were dispatched at about 12:07 a.m. to the McDonald’s and located Sedillos asleep at the wheel with his vehicle running and in drive. After placing patrol cars in front of Sedillos’ vehicle, an officer reached in and put Sedillos’ vehicle in park and shut off the engine.
Sedillos allegedly showed outward signs of intoxication and said he had drunk “a couple” of alcoholic beverages.
After failing a field sobriety test, Sedillos was arrested for DUI and was transported to the Safford Police Department, where he consented to a blood draw. The blood was then sent to an Arizona Department of Public Safety laboratory for testing.
Sedillos’ vehicle was left in the parking lot of McDonald’s at his request and he was given a ride to his residence and released.
Possible DUI charges are pending lab test results and review by prosecutors.
