SAFFORD – When Heather Mack of Mack’s Auto Supply NAPA Auto Parts heard of the devastating news involving the loss of life of three area teenagers she knew she had to do something.

Mack reached out to NASCAR, which donated an amazing all-expense-paid NASCAR VIP Experience to be raffled off with the proceeds benefitting the families of the three teens.

“We just wanted to do something for the families and donate as much as we can,” Mack said.

On Friday, Feb. 21, Mason Gann, 16, of Fort Thomas, Kade Nelson, 16, of Thatcher, and Emmett Darnell, 17, of Duncan, died when the Eastern Arizona College transport van bringing them home from a day at the drag races in Phoenix rolled over on U.S. Highway 70 roughly one mile west of Pima. The van was returning to the Gila Valley with automotive class students through the Gila Institute For Technology (GIFT) program.

To help raise funds, NASCAR generously donated a prize package for March 6 – 8 at the Phoenix International Raceway. The package includes a hotel for Friday and Saturday, two gate admissions and “cold passes” to the NASCAR Race weekend, and a $300 VISA gift card for miscellaneous expenses.

To enter, purchase tickets at any Mack’s Auto Supply location in Clifton, Safford, Willcox, or Lordsburg, New Mexico. Or, simply Venmo your ticket purchase to @MacksAutoParts and you will be emailed your raffle ticket number. Tickets are $10 each or 12 for $100. Hurry and purchase your tickets soon as they will only be available through March 4.
