Letter to the Editor: A lesson in sarcasm

Dear Editor,

As I sat down at my kitchen table this morning after reading my favorite unbiased news outlet, MS NOW – which I know would never tell me false information or lead me astray – I pulled up my local Gila Herald and was graced with the enlightening and inspiring words of my favorite newspaperman, John Young, titled “If not insane, another explanation, please”. I hadn’t gotten enough content for my Never Trump blog, so I decided to indulge, and all I can say is my “cup filleth over” with hate for the orange man.

My favorite part of Mr. Young’s article was when he confirmed Trump had “psychopathic antisocial personality disorder”. Clearly, this is the only explanation for his actions, because expert doctors and psychologists said so; don’t try to convince me otherwise. All other explanations would mean I would have to consider the other side’s point of view, and that would be like accepting that Roy Neary was right.

Now I can say our President is not only a dangerous man with intricate schemes and plans, but also incompetent and unable to form a coherent sentence. I love paradoxes.

I just wish Joe Biden were back in office; he is sharp as a tack and an incredibly clear, concise speaker. And those doctors raising concerns? They were probably just politically motivated. Hopefully he’ll even try running for president in the next elections. Maybe we’ll get someone who never gets asked hard questions, never makes bad decisions, or heaven forbid, makes a grammatical error while speaking; that would be absolutely unacceptable.

I just hate when Republicans try to explain their reasoning for why they support Trump and his actions. I’m always forced to plug my ears and recite the talking points my beloved Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell tell me every night.

All in all, this insightful editorial by dear Mr. Young really does convince me that my morals are far superior to Trump and his minions. After all, the article quotes two mental-health professionals describing Trump as someone who “lacks moral reasoning”; what a relief! Now I can stop worrying at night about whether I’m missing something. Let me just add the hashtag #moralsuperiorty to my Instagram, and that should show those “insane” Republicans.
