SAFFORD – In an Eastern Arizona first, Mister G is coming to perform a free concert for children ages newborn to 5-years-old and their caregivers on Thursday, April 7, at 10 a.m. in the David M. Player Center for the Arts at Safford High School.

Ben Gundersheimer (Mister G) is a Latin Grammy Award-winning artist, author, activist, and educator. Hailed as “a bilingual rock star” by the Washington Post, he tours internationally playing everywhere from Lollapalooza and Lincoln Center to climate change rallies on Capitol Hill. His spirited bilingual performances aim to help children see each other across borders and foster cross-cultural connections.

A free autographed copy of his children’s book, Señorita Mariposa, will be available to families while supplies last.

Mister G is brought to Graham and Greenlee counties through generous contributions from the Safford City/Graham County Library, First Things First, the Friends of the Safford Library, Gila Valley Arts Council, Graham County Superintendents office, Greenlee County Superintendents office, United Way, Eastern Arizona College, and the Flinn Foundation.

Tickets are not required for this event and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.  For more information contact Elizabeth Henley, the Early Literacy Coordinator at the Safford Library, at  (928) 432-4153.
