Last day to enter Copper Corridor $500 art contest

COPPER CORRIDOR – Aspiring artists aged 30 and younger: here’s a chance to win a grand prize of $500 – but you need to put your creativity into high gear because the entry deadline is Valentine’s Day, Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 5 p.m.

Entries must explore the contest theme ‘Mining Past, Present, Future’. Embrace your creativity and help celebrate the rich mining heritage of the Copper Corridor.

Who can apply? Young artists and teens, especially those residing in the Copper Corridor (Safford, Thatcher, Pima, Bylas, San Carlos, Winkelman, Hayden, Kearny, Globe, Miami, Superior).

What to create?

Mining-themed art suitable for coloring pages and/or community murals. Express the connection between our past, present, and future in the mining industry. Art can be hand-drawn, computer-generated (original work), or a line drawing from a photograph.

Why participate?

Winners receive $500 for the use of their drawing in either murals or coloring page projects.  Display your work at an art show, with a chance to participate in future art initiatives. Connect with experienced artists for mural creation if your piece is chosen for this exciting project.

How to submit

Send your art and contest application to livable2lovable@gmail.com or text (808) 373-0032 to arrange in-person delivery by the submission deadline of 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14 – Valentine’s Day.

Winners will be notified by phone, text, and email by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
