SAN CARLOS APACHE RESERVATION — The San Carlos Apache Police Department has arrested a juvenile in connection with the shooting death of a 16-year-old girl that occurred late Saturday night at Belvado Park in San Carlos.
Officers responded to the park around 11 p.m. on June 13, 2026, following reports of a shooting. The victim was transported to a medical facility but succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at approximately 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 15.
Police have not released the names of the victim or the arrested juvenile, citing their ages and ongoing investigative needs.
The investigation remains active, with detectives continuing to follow leads and gather evidence. Authorities have not indicated whether additional suspects are being sought.
“Our officers and investigators are working around the clock to identify and apprehend any additional individuals involved in this senseless act of violence,” said San Carlos Apache Police Chief Elliot Sneezy. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. We are committed to ensuring that all those responsible are held accountable.”
